HISTORY OF GREULICH
The building that houses the Greulich was reconstructed in 2002 by the Zurich architects Romero Schaefle, yet the deep blue house exudes the charm of past eras.
The two wings of the apartment building once surrounded a workshop in the backyard, while today, the hotel rooms are housed in separate buildings in the inner courtyard.
The Greulich got its name from the street on which it stands, which in turn was named after Hermann Greulich. He arrived in Zurich from Silesia in 1865 as a bookbinder and became one of the most influential politicians in the Swiss labor movement.

DIONYSIOS ZOIS ZAVERDINOS
Born on December 10, 1947, in Spanochori on the island of Lefkada, Greece. Zaverdinos studied painting at the Montreal Fine Art School of Canada (1969 – 1970) and furthered his studies at the Art Students League in New York (1978 – 1979) under Theodore Stamos.
In 1986, he illustrated "Silent Dialogue", a collection of poems by Argyris Sfoudouris, published in Zurich. He now lives and works in Zurich.
